Jetson App Feature: Will Serrano - College Student Turned Published Author & Young Entrepreneur

Will Serrano

Three years ago I met Will Serrano for the first time. He was a budding young entrepreneur, passionate about finance and investing. Will was articulate, observant, and carried a calm confidence that made him stand out among his peers. He already held leadership roles in various student groups and spent what little free time he had hosting extracurricular events. He also had two of the most critical characteristics of an entrepreneur, an “execute first” mindset and a willingness to take quick, decisive action.

My earliest collaboration with Will was organizing a virtual student event focused on financial literacy. It came in the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic when virtual community was rapidly growing. Will’s vision was audacious: invite hundreds of finance-focused students to join a weekend Q&A session featuring top-tier guest speakers. And when he set his mind to something, he made it happen. He managed to land a commitment from one of the world’s leading investors—someone you’d find on the Forbes Midas List—as the main guest. The Q&A session was a viral success, drawing over 1,000 virtual attendees and glowing reviews from attendees.

That success lit a spark in Will, pushing him toward his next project: writing a financial literacy book, The Investment Odyssey, aimed at young, first-time investors. Determined to make the content both relevant and credible, he tapped into his network to land a conversation with a Fortune 500 CEO. Will eventually decided to take a year off to compile and write the book. Reflecting on his journey, he points to two major lessons learned from orchestrating events and writing: the power of asking truly thoughtful questions and the importance of considering what resonates most with an audience.

Now, Will is gearing up for his next venture—a writing series spotlighting entrepreneurs and CEOs. But he doesn’t just want to celebrate their successes. He wants to shine a light on the obstacles they faced along the way, revealing how they navigated challenges before hitting their stride. It’s a passion project that underscores his commitment to amplifying real stories for the next wave of entrepreneurs.

While he’s juggling these creative endeavors, Will is also pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at Babson College, a university widely recognized for its robust entrepreneurship program. His story is a reminder of how curiosity, careful planning, and a willingness to execute boldly can open many doors. For Will, community and connection are more than buzzwords—they’re the driving force behind everything he does. And if his past accomplishments are any indication, his upcoming ventures will be ones to watch closely.
